Heading into a two week swing through the state of Maine the Crushstation team held the points lead for the Traxxas Monster Truck Tour. It would be a perfect scenario for Greg Winchenbach and company as they would get an opportunity to not only clinch the title, but to also do so in front of their home state fans. The Crushstation team clawed their way to the trophy and came away with the 2018 championship honors.

The first of two weekends on the Maine swing began in Bangor at the Cross Insurance Center for a three show weekend. It a trio of dominating performances from Winchenbach and the Monstah Lobstah would set the team up for an almost untouchable points lead while the team waited for results to come in from the West Coast where the next closest competitors in the standings were competing. In the first event Winchenbach would sweep the night’s competition by winning the wheelie, racing and freestyle competitions. In the next event Winchenbach and Crushstation continued their winning ways with wheelie and freestyle wins to add to the weekend total. To finish out the weekend it would be another clean sweep from the Crushstation which lead to them clinching the tour championship!

Lumberjack - Traxxas Monster Truck Tour 2018While much of the focus was on the Crushstation for the weekend, Kurt Phillips and the Lumberjack also turned in some good performances of his own. Phillips and Lumberjack would score two second place finishes in racing on the weekend, losing only to teammate Winchenbach and the Crushsation. In freestyle Phillips would pick up a pair of third place finishes to round out a great weekend for the team as a whole.

After a great weekend in Bangor the team would make the quick trip to Portland, Maine’s Cross Insurance Arena for three more events with the Traxxas Monster Truck Tour. It would be another dominating performance from the Bottom Feeder Motorsports team as Crushstation and Lumberjack would finish first and second in several competitions. On Friday night Winchenbach would pick up the wheelie contest win to start off the night while Phillips would finish second. In racing the Crushstation would come up just short of the win to score second place. In freestyle it would be another 1-2 finish from the team with Crushstation picking up the win and Lumberjack claiming second. The Saturday afternoon show would see Winchenbach tail plant the Crushstation to another wheelie contest victory. Neither trucks would make the finals in the event, however they made up for it by finishing first and second again in freestyle with Crushstation taking the victory and Lumberjack finishing in the runner up position. The final event on Saturday night saw Wichenbach’s win total go up again as he would pick up the wheelie contest win yet again. The finals came down to Crushstation and Heavy Hitter in the last event, but Heavy Hitter would sneak away with the racing win. After being the bridesmaid all weekend in freestyle, Phillips and Lumberjack would finally break through and get the win over teammate Winchenbach and Crushstation. It would be another Bottom Feeder Motorsports 1-2 finish in freestyle to close out another great weekend for the team.
